The Bishop and The Actor - Now on DVD

SUMMARY

It’s certainly not every day that a bishop and an actor present a candid interchange about the Faith, the priesthood, and the impact that a live, theatrical drama is having on audiences around North America.

Saint Luke Productions presents The Bishop and The Actor, an interview in which two worlds come together in a rare blend: one from a shepherd of the faithful - Bishop Michael Sheridan of the Diocese of Colorado Springs, and the other, from an artist of the stage and screen - actor and film director Leonardo Defilippis.

While on tour in the Diocese of Colorado Springs performing Saint Luke Productions’ latest popular production VIANNEY, the diocesan paper The Colorado Catholic Herald, arranged for Leonardo to speak with the good bishop, who tells how this drama can be a powerful catalyst for greater unity in dioceses. The interview initially aired on Bishop Sheridan Presents, the weekly radio show which is also produced by The Colorado Catholic Herald.

Exploring the essence of the priestly ministry through the fascinating story of Saint John Vianney, the unlikely priest turned spiritual hero, this conversation looks at the real impact this drama is having on the culture, and the reaction which youth in particular are having to the show. You’ll hear frank insights on the challenges of the priesthood today and the curious draw this has for those considering their vocation in life.

We invite you to learn how VIANNEY and this new awareness of the patron of priests, Saint John Vianney himself, is renewing the heart of the Church by converting the hearts of audience members, one performance at a time. This discussion will surely enlighten and enrich your appreciation of the beauty and the mission of the Church!
