For over 35 years, Catholic actor Leonardo Defilippis has been performing one-of-a-kind live dramas based on Scripture and the saints. He began his career as a Shakespearean actor. At that time, he performed in such respected venues as the Old Globe in San Diego, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. It was while he was in Ashland that he experienced a profound conversion and a return to the Catholic faith. Inspired by his rediscovered faith, he created a one-man play based on the Gospel of Luke, entitled The Gift of Peace. Little did he dream that at that moment Saint Luke Productions had been born.
After touring with The Gift of Peace, the Franciscans asked Leonardo to create a play based on the life of St. Francis of Assisi. With two solo performances under his belt, he began a three decade journey, producing and performing inspiring religious dramas. Maximilian is one of his most versatile performances. In this production, he switches from saint to Nazi soldier with breathtaking skill.
In addition to his work as an actor and producer, Leonardo is the proud father to seven beautiful children. He and his family reside in Washington State.
